God’s Word is true wisdom—this wisdom is
something that should not be held
back—therefore, we make every effort with the
help of the Lord to minister to all those He
directs our way. What a blessing it has been
for me, even recently to watch young men follow
strongly after the Lord with no reservations.
They, like the Apostle Paul, are bold with the
Gospel leaving the consequences up to Christ.
My prayer for this past year was that young men
would become the leaders they were capable of
becoming and I am excited to report, it has
happened! Ministry with such a group in not
drudgery but a pleasure and blessing.
On Sunday, March 10th, I and six
other young men returned from the Shepherds
Conference in Southern California. We
enjoyed a wonderful encouraging time of warm
fellowship, teaching and worship. The
conference fulfilled all my expectations and
produced in us a challenge for leadership. We
returned to a busy Hospitality House Ministry
ready to disciple and reach out to so many on
Travis Air Force Base who need to the Gospel.
I was recently with a group of 10 in
Nogales, Mexico for the Travis
Hospitality Houses 14th Missions trip
to that same location—working with the same
Church and Pastor. We were greatly blessed as
we labored hard together in construction and
children’s ministry. Over the years we have
seen Pastor Ramon’s church grow and reach into
that poor community with love and compassion.
It is always a privilege to take teams to
Nogales and encourage the church there
while at the same time receiving encouragement
ourselves.

Here is a brief synopsis of our current
schedule. On Thursdays we continue with dinner
at the Peak Café on base followed by
Bible Study. Our Thursday outreach has grown
and we have recently met a few new young men who
have begun to attend Hospitality House
activities. We are very grateful for the
opportunity on Base that the Chaplains have
given us.
On Fridays we continue with Potluck dinner and
Bible Study at the Hospitality House. The group
varies from week to week but it’s large enough!
The days are longer now and the weather good
which helps dramatically because people can be
outside greatly reducing the crowding inside.
Although we are involved somewhat less involved
with the Travis AFB Chapel these days, the
ministry at the Hospitality House has not been
impacted in a negative way. The Sunday Morning
Sunday School Class that we started here a few
months ago is well attended and is a great time
of fellowship for all of us. We are blessed
with many bold, evangelistic people who
continually invite people from the base to the
activities we sponsor. Sue cooks dinner five or
six times of week for varying numbers of
people. She also continues to lead the “Worship
Team” (composed mostly of young Airmen) when
they practice during the week and in the 8:30
Contemporary Chapel Service on Sunday mornings.
A significant number of those who come to the
Hospitality House will be deploying in May.
Please pray for them and for this ministry while
they are gone—they will be missed. Our very
good friends, Donny, Ann and little Rachel will
be moving to
Montana in April. Donny & Ann met here
at the Hospitality House and have been a huge
part of this ministry for more than 7 years.
It’s difficult for us to see them go to say the
least! Pray for them. We know the Lord will
use them in their new location—they are ready
but we will miss them very much.
